It was due to certification, PC Beta was ready they were just waiting for console cert before they could move ahead.

The alpha url for BF3 was http://bf3alpha.battlefield.com, http://bf3beta.battlefield.com has just appeared today and it looks like Apache has only just been set up, Italian Battlefield Facebook page are teasing that some news is coming tomorrow that everyone has been waiting for, so it looks like the beta is due this week.

My guess is weekend for early access (MOH:LE and Alpha testers) and then monday onwards for open beta.

Looks like BF3 Beta is coming out this week semi confirmed.

And I don't remember any bf3alpha.battlefield.com. I used http://battlelog.battlefield.com/ to play the alpha.

Man i can't wait fo dis game. it's goin t'be so's awesome. I'll prob be playin it all day and all night. Graphics in many uh de videos look real realistic and cool. Animals seem t'be da damn most fluid uh any game I've been so's far. Ah be baaad... Goin' t'be awesome. What it is

It hadnt at the time, it has now.

People used bf3alpha.battlefield.com to get their alpha code....

That's when the open beta starts. People that pre-ordered BF3 on Origin or bought the limited edition of MoH can play the beta on the 27th.

      The original word arts were far more awesome! With their own preconfigured fill patterns, 3D layout, etc, with options to fine-tune their size and colors as desired. I especially loved the ones circled below and still miss them from my primary school years: I frankly use them less these days 'cause the new one isn't as straightforward fine art as what we originally had, taking time and effort to get back to the same graphics quality as the original offered, which I simply don't have enough of for merely fine-tuning my presentation titles. Same with the built-in picarts selection. Bring back the original pre-configured options for word art then I'll be using them far more frequently in my presentations even today.
