I just got my invite. I can't log in to battlefield though :(

I get a message saying "Your account is not allowed to login" :<

This is a pretty known problem with many moaning on the EA forums. Any solution yet?

yeah because now an EA account and Origin Account are the same thing. If you already had an EA account it's not an Origin account.

Are you sure about that? I used my same account info for Origin and the old EA stuff like forums.

also, no one else finds it's dumb you need three separate programs to run a game? origin, your web browser and the game itself...

I agree it's a stupid system but despite how convoluted it is it seems to run pretty smoothly all things considered.

Mmmmm on the PS3 and not that impressed. I have killed way to many people just by randomly blasting an area and the physics for walls is very poor. If you are behind a wall how can bullets pass through !!!!

I think the fact that they have a beta period which has a specific end date before the beta even begins shows how unserious they are about fixing any bugs discovered. As a developer myself for a large company when we test code there is no set end date to that testing period before we begin testing. It's done when all the discovered bugs in that test period are fixed. If it wasn't done like this then there would be no point in having a test period because you're not taking it seriously and not leaving yourself enough time to fix any found bugs.

I'd be seriously surprised if they manage to fix all these problems before release because I don't see how that is going to be possible. I wonder if they are even going to issue any game updates before October 10th when the open beta ends.

I read somewhere that a newer version of the game has somewhere around 200+ bugs fixed on it compared to the version we are playing. I don't know if that's true or not but they did this with BC2 and if true I don't understand why we're "beta" testing an outdated version of the game.

Are you sure about that? I used my same account info for Origin and the old EA stuff like forums.

well i'm 99 percent sure cause i had an EA account, that was just an EA account, and they made it into a Origin account. I never signed up to origin, my EA account became an origin account.

Still can't even get into a game on the 360 open beta, as it says connection to EA's servers is lost. Apparently this is a pretty common problem (N)

Yeah, me too. I managed to play two rounds just before lunch but now I get the message connection to EA servers lost.

Still,

- the graphic on the X360 are so-so, barely improved compared to Bad Company 2.

- Part of the modeling for the outdoor part of Metro is just awful. The indoor part is better: it looks like Paris sub station.

- The x360 version is riddled with bugs

- I get green flashs every 10 seconds

- I had the right half of my sniper scope goes bonkers and display some garbage at one point

- I had a 'Hold (X) to pick up weapon' message remain on the screen after I have been fragged

I just cannot believe that EA are going to release this in one month.

Now, concerning the gameplay ...

Besides being a Battlefield game with weapons balance issues like BC2, the addition of prone and crawl has turned some players into snakes in the grass, there are some motions of the camera when jumping over obstacles or when aiming down the sights that gave me sea sickness.

After that, yes, the less frustrating way to play it is to camp and snipe, luckily, I still remember that from my Enemy Territory days.

It is not the AAA game I expected it to be.

Anyone noticed how sometimes when players are killed their bodies start sliding across the ground for no reason.. Happened a bunch of times when I was playing today.

I really don't see how they can fix all these bugs in less than 30 days.

I laughed when I first saw that, lol

Isn't that what they are supposed to do? I mean .. they are snipers lol

Nope, not in Battlefield. Besides, they're recons and not snipers. They're supposed to scout the area.

Mmmmm on the PS3 and not that impressed. I have killed way to many people just by randomly blasting an area and the physics for walls is very poor. If you are behind a wall how can bullets pass through !!!!

BC2 and CoD are both like that...

Yeah, me too. I managed to play two rounds just before lunch but now I get the message connection to EA servers lost.

The beta is weeks old already. Many bugs have been fixed.

The graphics are Xbox and absolute fine, I don't know why anyone would expect anything more.

thx digitalx, whats the best way to get on a server, filter for caspian and then wait for a spot in server browser and then hope you get in?

yep pretty much the only way , though ive noticed if u watch after a game ends it will dump all the players making it easier to get into.

One thing is for certain and that is tking needs to go in a hurry. Since the game opened to the general public today I've been tk'd more than in the last 2 days combined. On servers that are admin'd good it will be a good feature but until then, trolls are having a blast. This is just like during the BC2 beta where idiots were putting anti-tank mines on their own mcom crates and destroying them ruining games for everyone.

If you guys see a guy named SpetnazGunner on your team you may as well leave instantly because all he does is run around tking.

    • First time clicking on a Sayan Sen article after he started making clickbait, vague headlines recently. Didn't read, just came here to say the headline doesn't look like very cheap, vague clickbait this time. Are you okay?
    • Good review, and yeah the benchmark breakdown is pretty clear but also a little messy in a good way. It’s kinda interesting to see where the RX 9070 GRE slides in between the 7800 XT and the 9070 XT , especially when it comes to AI tasks and Blender style workloads. The side by side with Nvidia’s RTX 5070 and 4070 makes it feel obvious just how competitive the mid range GPU scene has gotten lately, and that’s great for creators and gamers too since you can pick based on your priorities rather than only chasing one single thing.
    • That's it. I finally uninstalled Firefox because they often keep pushing buggy updates, only to test them later and make users suffer. No longer is it my alternative browser to Edge. What a waste of energy. Firefox is bad for the environment, just like Chrome (wasting RAM/energy).
