To be honest, Battlelog isn't that bad. Plus real time stats are very nice to have.

You dont need an ingame browser, BF3 starts and closes pretty much instantly, there are no intro videos, main menu, etc.. to get annoyed about.

Thanks guys. Was little worried.

That doesn't mean you don't need an in-game browser. If a server I want to play on is full, I'd like to be able to know when a slot opens up or if friend X joins it (and, conversely, if it's hardly got anyone playing, I'd like to know when more people join). An in-game browser would certainly help that. It's not as big of a deal as it is in a game like Team Fortress 2 (given the match size differences), but it still matters to me.

It's not a horrible system, but I don't think it's a good one, either.

Have you used it (Battlelog) during the aplha/beta? All those are things are possible and much more easily accessed than in a in-game browser.

It's kinda shocking how people are actually satisfied with battlelog. Have we pc gamers really gotten to the point where we are happy with progress going backward?

Really? Last i checked, when playing a game it's far easier to browse for a new server without having to exit it every. single. time. And yes, before you ask me, i played the beta.

Well, I'm also one of the apparently stupid people that quite like Battlelog. Joining a game was in no way slower than in BC2 (no experience with previous BF titles). I'd even argue that it is more pleasant than going through developer and publisher movies. Plus it allows for a more casual game launch experience, for example, I casually browse Battlelog, suddenly notice a friend playing and join for a quick match. Not necessary to launch a game to see what's going on. Also, having the server browser separate from the game client allows DICE to make adjustments, fixes, tweaks and add new features without the necessity to issue a patch that has to go through a potentially more extensive and longer QA process

Agreed. I didn't know if I'd like it at first but after playing the alpha and beta, it's a welcomed change. It's actually quite nice to connect to a server and have the game load in the background. Once it's done, it says something like "Ready to launch." I can continue browsing while the game loads which saves me the boredom of watching a loading screen. I could also chat with my friends, see their progress in SP/MP, and more while searching for a server.

I agree. Battlelog is fine.

Also that tv trailer is amazing. I'm almost certain they put in some real footage just to throw us off. :woot:

oh man that's a great trailer! I was struggling to tell, at a few points, what was real and what wasn't.

Game's graphics aren't THAT good :) It was crystal clear which footage was in-game and which was real life.

I'm sorry, but how using the in-game browser any easier/quicker than the quick and rich usability of the Battlelog? In in-game browser you have to quit the current game to the main menu of the game; from there select the server browser menu, wait for it to be populated yet again (and when the game got more than 300 servers, that's a good wait) and only then join a different server to your liking with only seeing basic information on it (available # of slots, map name and ping)... after watching the loading screen for the 100th time.

With Battlelog, it's A LOT quicker with more information. When you're in a middle of a MP game and want to switch server, all you need to do is alt+tab back to the browser where the in-browser server browser already got all the servers fetched up for you from your previous refresh, click "quit game" in the current game stats window at the bottom left corner of the Battlelog and then select the server you want to join and watch how only that selected server is refreshed showing you in the same window its basic stats (ping, available slots, map name) with extra along with the com center at the right/bottom right side of the in-browser server browser. Then when you selected the new server that you want to join, all you have to do is click "join server" to see the game's status window pop up showing you the game is loading, leaving you the option to alt+tab to the game that was opened in the background and watch the loading screen... or just leave the loading in the background and do something quick on your computer before the game finishes loading. Like write a message in IM, lower the volume of your mp3 player/switch playlist, do something in the com center or any other thing in Battlelog itself.

My roomate bought those and swears by them now lol. Im gonna hit up some creative 7.1 headphones soon.

After using them for a while must admit they're really the benchmark for wireless headphones. even though they are "virtual" surround sound they do excellent job of it plus make up for it in sound quality in everything music games and movies. Certainly would recommend them over creative any day price wise lol.

    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2 to finally get one of the most requested features by Sayan Sen This past week Microsoft officially confirmed Windows 11 version 26H2 with the latest build, 26300.8697, for testing in the experimental Insider channel. The company also published more details about it mainly directed towards IT admins and system admins. Essentially version 26H2 will be delivered via an enablement package (eKB) over Windows 11 25H2. If you are wondering about some of the upcoming features in the next Windows version, one of them is certainly very interesting as Microsoft has confirmed it is finally bringing one of the most overwhelmingly requested features ever. March Rogers, the Partner Director of Design at Microsoft, recently highlighted some of the Search improvements that the company is testing, and during the interaction with users on X where he posted it, Rogers also confirmed that the company is working on disabling web search results inside Search. This is something which many users find quite annoying as Windows would often serve them links to Bing which it feels could be more helpful rather than bringing up the actual object or app the user may be searching for on their PC. Finally though the company is prioritizing local file search over the web. However the feature could not be disabled for many users as not all new features are immediately rolled out to everyone. Image via phantomofearth (X) Windows enthusiast phantomofearth who likes to dig deep into new builds uncovered the IDs you will need to enable these features. Using the following feature IDs the new Search-related features landing in Windows 11 26H2 can be used. Follow the steps below to enable the new Search experience on Windows 11 build 26300.8697: Download ViveTool from GitHub and unpack the files in a convenient and easy-to-find folder. Press Win + X and select Terminal (Admin). Switch Windows Terminal to the Command Prompt profile with the Ctrl + Shift + 2 shortcut or by clicking the arrow-down button at the top of the window. Navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool files with the CD command. For example, if you have placed ViveTool in C:\Vive, type CD C:\Vive. Type vivetool /enable /id: and press Enter. Restart your computer. If you change your mind and want to restore, repeat the steps above and replace /enable with /disable in the commands on steps 5 and 6. Delightedly and perhaps also expectedly, once you disable web search and other such bloat, the Windows 11 Search is said to get snappier as remarked by another Windows enthusiast Xeno.
