presence06
It stated that when you filled out the survey to apply to join :p Lol, oh. I didn't know that. People earlier were wondering if we get to keep the game. Haha. Alladaskill17
So the only people that should get bricks are people that shouldn't have the disc anyway right? Also, is it actually "bricked" or just cannot connect to XBL? I didn't notice anything either. The Beta tab is still there but is just info nothing else. Plus... AJerman
You don't get banned, you just won't be able to connect to Xbox Live until the update goes public. Yeah, seems to me they have a backend authentication when connecting to XBL and unless your console is on the approved list, XBL can't connect with the newer software. Yes the update was on the disc. You won't notice anything as its a firmware update to allow the Xbox to read the new format. That's all we're testing. Neo003
BTW there are two types of disk distributed, Live update group has a silver disc and Disc Update group has a green label disc. AJerman
I don't see any difference, does anyone can confirm that the update was on the disk. And just for curiosity what did the update do?? If you were a disc tester, then you would have gotten a full system update when you put in the disc, and it would be very noticeable. It doesn't change anything about the look and feel of the system other than the beta tile, but you would certainly know that it had installed because it would take several minutes to update, as well as restart your Xbox. LiquidSolstice
So the "all we're tseting is this" part isn't quite true. There's two differences off the bad that I've already noticed. 1. The Recover Gamertag option now requires that you enter both your gamertag and your email address, whereas before it was only email address (and password, obviously) 2. Progress bars are now charcoal gray rather than the old flat green that they were before. Not sure what else there might be that I haven't noticed, but yeah. Just those so far. +InsaneNutter MVC Posted April 13, 2011 MVC Share Posted April 13, 2011 1. The Recover Gamertag option now requires that you enter both your gamertag and your email address, whereas before it was only email address (and password, obviously) That used to always be the case, I think they changed it to just email / password when the dash was updated for Kinect. I did like it better been just been email / password, I see no reason why you would need to enter the gamertag as you can only associate one per email address. spenser.d
I got another update today. I didn't have much time to see what was changed though. Some people were having issues connecting to Xbox Live after the initial update. This one fixed those issues (allegedly). DirtyLarry Veteran Posted April 15, 2011 Veteran Share Posted April 15, 2011 Is it just me, or does Reach seem to now take an incredibly, incredibly, super long time to load. I had never finished the SP campaign, so I put the disk in and went to play it, and it literally took over 2 minutes to create the SP game? That one screen where it shows the lobby, game type, and basically creates the SP game for you. I am wondering if it has something to do with the new disk format, or if it is just an isolated incident on my end and no one elses? And FTR, I thought maybe it was just a first time thing, so I quit the game completely, restarted the 360, fired up the game, and same deal. Took over 2 minutes to create the SP campaign game. I also noticed I still had the same issue I always had, which was just specific to reach. Sound cuts out completely for a second or two randomly. Does not seem to be any specific sound that causes it to happen, just now and then sound cuts out completely. No rhyme or reason either. Can go 10 minutes without it happening, then it will happen 4 times in a minute, then 20 minutes without it happening, then 1 time in 10 minutes. Just weird. I will pay more attention, maybe it is a specific sound.
