firefox 6 got a score of 312 or something on html5test.com, i'm only getting 302 + 9 bonus points with firefox 7 beta 1 build 1 :(

It happens to me too, don't know why :/

Changes in today's nightly are nice. The new addon compatibility checker thing that shows at startup after an update is much nicer, and faster.

Strange enough, i don't see in in my default profile, but i do in a fresh one. Do you know if there's a pref to change the default behavior?

Maybe this will help you solve why CPU utilization is high. I'm not sure.

Now running Nightly 9 a1.

And as main browser, Firefox 7 beta 1 ( build 1 not official yet ). The fonts on 7 beta 1 became perfect again. Still are Hardware Accelerated but on GDI like system. Don't know details. The point is: Perfect Fonts + Hardware Accelerated ( On UI too, not only on websites )

Just saw it for myself and it is much nicer than the old one. I've been mostly using the UX builds so didn't see it at first.

Did animated tabs make it into Build 1 of Firefox 7.0 Beta? I'm using it now, and I don't have that feature. I know it's not officially released yet, so maybe it's still being worked on. I even disabled TabMixPlus and TabGroupsManager, and it still doesn't work. There is a version of TabMixPlus that had the code changed, so it works for Aurora 8.0a1 and maybe the nightly, but the tab animation feature still doesn't work. The author is working on it, though. Here is the version for anyone that needs it. http://www.mediafire.com/?mfz7npb6qa8pbjb

IIRC, tab animation only arrived on Nightly 8, so I doubt you'll see it on 7beta.

having some freezes with firefox 7 beta 1, this happened in firefox 5 but this problem was fixed in either 5.01 or 6 for me, now the problem has returned :( The memory leaks don't seemed to have stopped for me, it uses around 600mb as i have loads of tabs open and increased over time, currently at 900mb, will be 1.2gb in a few hours i reckon which happened with v6.

Scrolling through tabs is incredibly smooth in v7, also rendering the pages when changing tabs seems significantly quicker for me.

Thanks , I did the manual update through the ftp. However until it is "official", less addons are updated so gotta do some updating manually.

Edit:

Actually, looks like Lastpass doesnt like Aurora 8 yet, had to downgrade back to 7.. gonna wait for official update and hopefully updated addon.

From today's nightly scratchpad syntax highlighting is turned on by default, and is customizable. So, since i don't like light color schemes, i ported a dark one from ACE ():

Aurora 8.0a2 is since yesterday on ftp. http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-aurora/

Looks like They updating servers for Nightly, also x64 version, hope we can get localized versions as well ;)

Updated.

Too early to say how it feels on the performance side, but I like how the back/forward and refresh buttons have a cool white glow.

7.0 beta 1 is on the ftp server.

This should be the exact same build as build 1, right? It's not newer at all? I was hoping tab animations would make it in 7.0 beta 1, but I guess it didn't according to one user in this thread. Thanks!

    • This Gigabyte AMD RX 9070 XT is very good deal despite the launch of 9070 GRE by Sayan Sen Recently we reviewed AMD's latest 1440p gaming card, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE 12GB, for $549. The card is in stock too at that price, though if you want significantly better performance and don't mind spending a bit more, the Gigabyte Gaming model of RX 9070 XT is currently on sale for just $650 (purchase link under the specs table down below). The card employs Gigabyte's WINDFORCE cooling system which combines multiple design elements such as alternate-spinning Hawk fans, a vapor chamber, and composite heat pipes to manage heat dissipation. The Server-grade Thermal conductive gel further helps in this department. The inclusion of a semi-passive cooling mode allows the fans to remain inactive under low workloads, which allows for reduced noise operation during lighter usage. There is dual BIOS switch that allows toggling between performance and silent modes. The technical specifications of the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT GAMING OC 16G are given in the table below: Specification Value Core Clock Boost Clock: up to 3060 MHz Game Clock: up to 2520 MHz Stream Processors 4096 Memory Clock 20 Gbps Memory Size 16GB Memory Type GDDR6 Memory Bus 256-bit Card Bus Interface PCI Express 5.0 Maximum Resolution 7680 × 4320 Multi-View Support 4 displays Card Dimensions L=288 mm, W=132 mm, H=56 mm Recommended Power Supply 750W Power Connectors 3 × 8-pin Video Outputs 2 × DisplayPort 2.1a 2 × HDMI 2.1b Get it at the link below: GIGABYTE Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC 16GB Graphics Card, GV-R9070XTGAMING OC: $649.99 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US) (Was: $740) This Amazon deal is US-specific and not available in other regions unless specified. • Why does this kind of tactic not surprise me?
    • They used AI based TOOLS to convert the JavaScript engine (the main rendering engine is still C++) and it was not fully automated but was human reviewed. Other subsystems will be looked into to also be converted to Rust in the future. I have no problem with any of that.
    • Why not just bring back Outlook Express at this point? It did everything I needed as a home email app.
    • No we just do it manually, our contact methods are calls, chats and e-mails. Whoever is doing the e-mail task for the day, deals with the e-mail, logs the appropriate ticket, adds the reference to the source e-mail and then files it in the appropriate folder. At least that's how it's supposed to work
