Acer announces availability of its Ryzen 4000-powered Swift 3 and Aspire 5

Acer today announced availability details of its new Ryzen 4000-powered laptops that it announced at CES this year, the Swift 3 and the Aspire 5. The PCs will arrive in April and June, respectively.

At CES this year, AMD announced its new 7nm Ryzen 4000 processors, and one of the first partners on-board to announce new products was Acer. Today, the company announced availability details for its new Ryzen laptops, the Swift 3 and Aspire 5.

The Swift 3 (SF314-42) uses an octa-core AMD Ryzen 7 4700U with Radeon Graphics. It weighs in at just 2.6 pounds, coming in an aluminum chassis, and it's 0.63 inches thin. It also comes with a 14-inch FHD 16:9 display, not to be confused with the Intel model that was also announced at CES, which is 3:2.

Acer Aspire 5

The Aspire 5 (A515-44) has a hexa-core AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor, which also has a 15W TDP. It comes with a 15.6-inch FHD TrueHarmony display, and you can have it configured with up to 24GB RAM, a 1TB PCIe SSD, and up to a 2TB HDD.

The new Swift 3 starts at $629.99, and it will arrive in April. The Aspire 5 is a bit more wallet-friendly at $519.99, and you'll be able to pick one up in June.
