Amazon's $50 Fire tablets are now available in various colors

Amazon has expanded its line of 7" Fire tablets so that they are now available in four colors, also offering a 16 GB storage tier. The Fire Kids tablet is also available in an additional color.

When Amazon launched its new $50 Fire tablets last September, they were available in any color you wanted, as long as it's black. Today, Amazon is expanding the line with three additional colors.

If the colors look familiar, that's because they are. They're the same colors that Amazon used on the Fire HD 8 tablets that they announced at the same time. The Fire HD 10 is still only offered in black.

The firm has also released a new Fire Kids Edition, offering a green case. As always, the Kids Edition comes with a '2-year worry-free guarantee', promising to replace the tablet if it breaks, 'no questions asked'.

The colored 7" Fire tablets still cost $49.99 for the 8 GB configuration, with 'special offers'. There's also a 16 GB model now which costs $69.99, with 'special offers'. The Fire Kids Edition, as always, costs $99.99, and the new 16 GB storage tier for that comes in at $119.99.
