Apple crumble: Significant outage brings down many of the company's services

Many of Apple's services are currently down right now, according to the firm's status page. At the current time, Apple has not yet given any indication of the cause of the outage, or when it expects its services to return to normal .

Here's a list of services that are currently down:

  • iOS App Store
  • Apple TV
  • iCloud Backup
  • iCloud Drive
  • iCloud Notes
  • iCloud Storage Upgrades
  • iCloud Web Apps
  • iTunes in the Cloud
  • iWork for iCloud
  • Mac App Store
  • Mail Drop
  • Photos
  • Volume Purchase Program

All of the services affected are coded with the color yellow, meaning that the service may be unavailable for some users. This is as opposed to being unavailable for all users.

It's quite the list, as it would be hard to find an Apple user that doesn't use at least some of those services. It would appear that the App Store works for downloads, but won't allow you to make purchases.

We reached out to Apple and were told that the firm is working to solve the problem:

Our team is currently looking into this issue and will hopefully have all of us back up and running shortly...

...We do not have a time frame as of yet for when they will be back online.

Hopefully, we can look forward to a speedy solution. It shouldn't be too long, as none of the outages seem to be complete or too severe.
