Apple launches TV service in UK

Fans of US TV will initially be able to download episodes from 28 series, although Apple is promising more content will be added soon to its newly launched video downloads service in the UK. Apple's UK iTunes store will charge customers £1.89 per episode (compared to $1.99 USD per episode), viewable on iPods or a TV via Apple's add-on peripheral Apple TV. Studios and channels include ABC, Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, MTV, Paramount Comedy and Playhouse Disney. Apple launched its video download service in the US two years ago; it is unclear why it took so long to arrive in the UK. Is it possible that this iTunes update coincides with an upcoming iPod upgrade?
