Apple Store goes down ahead of iPad 2 announcement

AppleStoreDown

It's pretty safe to say that Apple will be unveiling the iPad 2 later today. All the signs have appeared in the last couple of hours, including a possible leak of the product on Amazon Germany, and now the Apple Store has been taken offline for "updating".

Apple always take their store offline hours before any major event when a new product is being unveiled. Eagerly awaiting consumers can only expect the iPad 2 to be available for pre-order (or purchase) once the store comes back online sometime after the event.

According to the Amazon Germany website, the iPad 2 will feature the following specifications:

  • Thunderbolt
  • A camera
  • 1.2GHz CPU
  • 9.7-inch screen
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth

Shortly after the leak, the product link was pulled offline.

The Apple event starts at 10AM PST / 1PM EST. We hope to see Steve Jobs appear on stage to unveil the latest iPad to the world. Stay tuned to Neowin for the big announcement!
