Apple's iPhone event for September 10th announced

Apple has announced that they will be holding an event on September 10th, which aligns to the previous rumors about that next iPhone unveiling. It is expected that Apple will show off the iPhone 5S as well as a new device, possible called the 5C that will be a lower priced device.

The iPhone 5S is expected to be a refresh of the iPhone 5 and may bring with it new security features such as a fingerprint scanner and additional color options. Along with beefed up internals, Apple may bump the specs of the camera too, this will help it compete against the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Nokia’s new beast, the Lumia 1020 with its 41 megapixel sensor.

The iPhone 5C is expected to be a lower end device that will come in a wide variety of colors at a discounted price. Current rumors suggest that Apple could strip out Siri from the 5C to help differentiate the two platforms, but all will be revealed on September 10th when Apple holds their event.

As stated previously, it is not expected that Apple will announce new iPads at this event and that they will likely hold an event, later in the year, to show off their new tablets.
