Assassin's Creed Origins system requirements and PC features detailed

Ubisoft's latest take on the Assassin's Creed franchise is arriving later this month, taking players to Ancient Egypt. To prepare the PC players for the journey, Ubisoft has now shared the system requirements for Assassin's Creed Origins, as well as details of a few extra features arriving exclusively to the platform.

According to Ubisoft Producer, Jose Araiza, the PC version has been developed alongside the other platforms, with help from a PC-dedicated development team based in Kiev. "This approach was adopted while the game features were being designed, making PC and mouse-and-keyboard controls a full part of the equation from the get-go," said Araiza.

The game's system requirements are as follows:

MINIMUM CONFIGURATION
OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
PROCESSOR: Intel Core i5-2400s @ 2.5 GHz or AMD FX-6350 @ 3.9 GHz or equivalent
VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or AMD R9 270 (2048 MB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or better)
SYSTEM RAM: 6GB
Resolution: 720p
Video Preset: Lowest

RECOMMENDED CONFIGURATION
OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
PROCESSOR: Intel Core i7- 3770 @ 3.5 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz
VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 or AMD R9 280X (3GB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or better)
SYSTEM RAM: 8GB
Resolution: 1080p
Video Preset: High

Players with more powerful computers will, of course, be able to crank up the resolution to 4K, and also use supersampling. In addition to that, the game will feature dynamic resolution rendering, which will regulate the resolution to meet the player's target FPS. This technology is also used on the console versions, however, only PC players will be able to set a custom FPS target to hit.

The developer assures PC players that there will be plenty of graphics options to fine-tune their experience. Built-in performance benchmark and performance analysis tools will also be shipping with the game. The latter will inform PC players if they are bottlenecked by a particular piece of hardware in their systems.

Assassin's Creed Origins is slated for launch on October 27 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Moreover, a helpful FAQ with additional information regarding the PC version can be found on Ubisoft's official forums here.
