ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe and Ultra launched in India, prices start at Rs. 49,999

ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe, the world's first Snapdragon 821-powered smartphone went on sale in the company's home market of Taiwan in September, and is also available in the US as well. Now, the smartphone has launched in India, along with the large ZenFone 3 Ultra phablet.

The ZenFone range of smartphones has enjoyed decent sales numbers through online channels in India and it makes sense that the company is bringing the top variants of its devices to the country. However, contrary to its earlier value for money devices, the Deluxe and Ultra devices are rather expensive. The ZenFone 3 Deluxe and Ultra devices are priced upwards of Rs. 49,999 ($729).

There are two variants of the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, first being the Snapdragon 820-powered variant with 64GB of internal storage and the other powered by the Snapdragon 821 chipset and featuring 256GB. Both of the devices make use of a metal unibody design, with hidden antennas and thin bezels. The remaining specifications of the devices are as follows:

  • 5.7-inch Super AMOLED with Full HD (1920x1080px) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 / 821 SoC
  • 6GB RAM
  • 64GB / 256GB storage (plus microSD card support up to 256GB)
  • 23MP rear camera (Sony IMX318 sensor) with laser and phase detection autofocus, dual LED flash, optical image stabilization, and 4K video recording at 30fps
  • 8MP front-facing camera with 1080p video recording
  • 4G LTE connectivity with dual-SIM support

The ZenFone 3 Ultra is a large screen device, which uses the mid-range Snapdragon 652 chipset and also features less RAM compared to the Deluxe duo. The hardware specifications of the device are as follows:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC
  • 4GB RAM
  • 64GB (plus microSD card support up to 256GB)

Both the devices should be hitting stores in India really soon. Online retailers haven't announced availability as of yet.
