Battlefield 3: Armored Kill release dates announced

Battlefield 3: Armored Kill, the next DLC release for the first person shooter, will be released for PC Battlefield Premium subscribers September 11th, and for everyone else two weeks later.

Battlefield 3 gamers have a lot to look forward to next month. Developer Digital Illusions and publisher Electronic Arts has just announced the release dates for the game's next DLC pack, Armored Kill, which promises to add a ton of content to the first person shooter.

EA revealed that PC owners of Battlefield 3 that have signed up for the Battlefield Premium service will get the Armored Kill pack for free on September 11th. Everyone else will be able to download the pack for $15 two weeks later on September 25th.

The pack will add a new gameplay mode called Tank Superiority, as two opposing teams in tanks try to fight for control of a single flag in a variation of the "King of the Hill" mode. The new gameplay mode will be included in Armored Kill's four all new maps (Bandar Desert, Alborz Mountain, Death Valley and Armored Shield).

One of those maps, Bandar Desert, is going to be the single largest multiplayer map in the history of the Battlefield game franchise, which is certainly saying something. The map is going to be five square kilometers in Battlefield 3's virtual world.

In addition to the maps and new gameplay mode, the DLC pack will add five new vehicles, including two new tank destroyers (one for each side).
