Bigfoot Networks shows off $179 Killer Xeno network card

If you've managed to laugh in the face of the recession and feel the need to go overboard with every aspect of your PC, then Bigfoot Networks has you covered. The company, known for it's first "Killer" network card, has announced the latest version of their high priced networking hardware.

The Killer Xeno will offer more on-board memory, a faster network processing unit (NPU), and integrated audio designed to handle all of your VOIP needs. Bigfoot Networks promises that by allowing the Killer Xeno to handle your software firewall and voice chat, your CPU will be free to give you better performance in your favorite games.

Along with the release of the Xeno, Bigfoot Networks also announced a deal with Alienware to include the card in some of their units. It seems like a natural fit, when you think about it. More important, though, the company also announced a deal with EVGA that will allow the graphics card and motherboard manufacturer to become the first third party to license the Killer Xeno brand and release it under the EVGA moniker.

The Killer Xeno will be available in two models: the Killer Ultra and the Killer Pro. The former will sport 256mb of on-board memory and a $179 price tag, while the Pro will scale things down to 128mb of memory and a slightly double take worthy $129 retail price.
