BlackBerry PRIV arriving on AT&T for $249 with two-year contract

AT&T has announced that it will be offering the BlackBerry PRIV starting on November 6th. Featuring a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the Android device will be available for $249 on a two-year contract.

The BlackBerry PRIV is probably one of the worst kept secrets of 2015, next to Apple's iPhone. Although BlackBerry has made the unlocked handset available for preorder for quite some time, the high price has undoubtedly curbed the appetite of even the most rabid BlackBerry fan. Luckily, the folks at AT&T have secured distribution for BlackBerry's new handset in the US and paired it with a more reasonable price.

On November 6th, AT&T will be offering the PRIV for $249 on a two-year contract. For those that do not want to sign up for a two year contract or pay such an amount upfront, will have the option to take advantage of their 'Next' monthly payment plan that starts at a rate of $25 a month. The BlackBerry PRIV will be the company's first Android handset and offer the following specifications.

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 808
  • 3GB RAM / 32GB storage with microSD expansion
  • 5.43" 2560 x 1440 curved AMOLED display
  • 18MP rear camera with 2MP front-facing
  • Sliding physical keyboard
  • 3410mAh battery

The BlackBerry PRIV will be available starting November 6th in the United States via AT&T.
