Blink has announced its price increase for its Subscription Plans for the first time since 2021, starting on the 8th of next month, for customers in the US. The updated pricing will take effect on a customer's next renewal date on or after October 8.
In a support document spotted by Neowin, the Amazon-owned company details the changes to Basic (Monthly/Yearly) and Plus (Monthly/Yearly) subscription tiers. Any new Plan purchased from Blink.com or Amazon.com on or after the effective date will be subject to the new pricing structure. Here's the table with the updated prices:
| Plan | Current Pricing | New Pricing |
|---|---|---|
| Basic (Monthly) | $3 | $3.99 |
| Basic (Yearly) | $30 | $39.99 |
| Plus (Monthly) | $10 | $11.99 |
| Plus (Yearly) | $100 | $119.99 |
While this price hike might come as a bummer for some, the good news is that Blink is adding some features to the entry-level tier. The Basic Plan now includes Custom Snooze Motion Notifications, a feature that lets you pause motion alerts on your phone for a set period without stopping the camera from recording.
You also get Moments, a feature that stitches together multiple motion clips into one video, which is handy for continuous events. The Basic Plan is for a single eligible device and now includes a 10% discount on Blink devices on Amazon. Those on the Plus Plan get all the same features for an unlimited number of devices, plus an extended warranty.
If you want to check where you bought your plan, which is necessary for managing your subscription, you can find the details inside the Blink app. Open the app, go into Settings, then select Blink Subscription Plans. The following screen will show you whether your subscription is managed through Blink.com or Amazon.com.
Blink says you can lock in the current pricing for a bit longer, as long as you purchase a one, two, or three-year Plus Plan between now and October 7, 2025, you can keep the old rate. This purchase must be made through the same channel you originally used: Blink.com or Amazon.com.
If you're on the 30-day no-cost trial, you will be billed at the old rate if your paid subscription begins before October 8. If your subscription becomes active on or after that date, you will be charged the new price when the trial ends.
