CD Projekt Red threatened with release of stolen materials for upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077

In an age where many things are not off-limits, it appears that Polish video game developer CD Projekt Red is being threatened with leaks of materials if the firm does not comply and pay a ransom.

According to a tweet coming from the official CD Projekt Red handle, an individual or group has contacted the developer letting them know that they are in possession of internal files with some pertaining to its upcoming game, Cyberpunk 2077. Along with making contact, a demand for ransom has been made, with failure to comply resulting in the leak of said documents.

Since the developer will not be yielding to the demand, there is a chance that the documents will find their way online and into the public eye. The firm has stated that the stuff you might see is old and does not represent the current vision of the game. With E3 just a week away, there is a chance that we might see something more official at the event.
