CES 2008: It begins

We have arrived at CES! If last year's CES seemed a little more software-centric than usual, this year it's gadget oriented.

Today the HD-DVD group officially canceled much of their CES events due to the stunning announcement by Warner Bros that it has chosen Blu-Ray.

Meanwhile, Samsung has announced that it will be providing greater support for Windows Media Center directly in its Digital Media Adapters (DMA). Microsoft has also announced a number of companies that will be providing Media Center Extenders.

The number of new media gadgets this year is astounding. We'll report more as we get around.
