Christmas Eve downloadable PC game sales hit the net

It's Christmas Eve and all through the land, there were lots of people with still no gifts at hand. Thankfully, in this age of the Internet, you can still get a last minute gift for your PC gamer pretty quickly before the big day arrives.

Steam has its holiday sale going on and you can buy a ton of games for reduced prices at the moment. For example, both Portal games are being sold in a bundle for just $6.24. The recently launched, and very popular, melee-based first person action game Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, is on sale for $12.49, a 50 percent discount.

Keep in mind that many of these sales could go away in a few hours. You can also purchase some Steam gift cards at your local GameStop if you want your PC gaming buddy to pick his or her own games. In fact, GameStop has an offer that will give people 30 percent extra credit if they trade in an old console game towards buying a Steam gift card.

GoG.com is also running its own holiday sale, with DRM-free games such as The Witcher II for 60 percent off. Again, their sales change frequently so be sure to check out their site a lot from now until early in the new year for the latest price cuts.
