Facebook status updates now have feelings and activities

There's so much extra room on Facebook for activities! That's because the social network has been updated to allow users to share their feelings or what activities they're participating in through a new tagging system.

The feature expands on tagging systems that already existed for mentioning other users or locations, now allowing Facebook members to tag things such as movies or television shows. Users can tag what they're watching, reading, listening to, drinking or eating, or they can add their mood to status updates.

To use the feature, users simply click a new smiley face icon located next to the photo upload button under a status update, and the following menu will then open.

Users can either select Facebook pages to tag for the activity or they can type in their own, as seen below. Currently, only seven moods – happy, sad, tired, great, wonderful, excited and sorry – are available for selection.

The Huntington Post reported receiving the feature Feb. 4, but now it appears to have rolled out for many more users. The feature is not yet available on any of Facebook's mobile apps.
