FromSoftware switched tactics to release its first cooperative play-focused game earlier this year with Elden Ring Nightreign. The roguelike spinofffrom Elden Ring proved to be immensely popular at launch. And now, after numerous free updates, it's almost time for its first official DLC pack to land. Announced today, The Forsaken Hollows DLC is bringing in fresh characters to play as, new bosses to beat, and more.

The Scholar is one of the new Nightfarer players will be able to take on their expeditions. Described as an academic who walks the Lands Between, the Scholar will be using arcane magic and his trusty cane to take care of the monstrosities in this world. Meanwhile, the Undertaker will be taking on the Nightlord using her combo of strength-based weapons and faith-based magic attacks.

A brand-new biome will be unlocked for DLC owners too, as part of the game's Shifting Earth format.

"A great cavity in the depths of Limveld," begins FromSoftware, describing the upcoming region. "The hollow is strewn with exotic ruins and temples; sacred towers denoting the remains of an ancient people; and crystals that exude a cursed, life-draining miasma."

Elden Ring Nightreign The Forsaken Hollows DLC is releasing on December 4 across PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 platforms with a $15 price tag. Pre-ordering the DLC will get players Nightreign's digital artbook and mini soundtrack. Moreover, anyone who has purchased the Collectors Edition or Deluxe Edition of the base game will receive the expansion for no extra cost as well.
