Alongside its latest Pixel hardware, Google announced that a new Fitbit personal health coach powered by Gemini AI will launch later this year in preview. It will be available through Fitbit Premium in the redesigned Fitbit app, supporting the newest Fitbit trackers, Fitbit smartwatches, and Pixel Watches.

The upcoming Fitbit personal health coach will come with several features, including custom routines, workouts based on personalized data, improved sleep algorithms, and more.

Users will be able to start a conversation with the Fitbit personal health coach about their goals, preferences, and equipment. Based on the user's response, it will use AI to build a personalized fitness plan with workout suggestions and metric targets. The workout plans will also adjust based on real-time data and daily insights. For example, if you had a poor night's sleep, it will automatically suggest changes to adjust your weekly fitness goals.

Google claims that the upcoming Fitbit personal health coach will feature new advanced sleep tracking algorithms to provide accurate data on sleep duration and stages. The sleep coach feature will be able to provide insights into how to improve your sleep quality over time. For example, it can also add 30 minutes to your sleep schedule to help you recover from a challenging workout the day before.

Since the health coach is powered by Gemini AI, you can ask any health- or fitness-related questions and get personalized answers. You can ask things like, “I’m feeling stressed right now. What can I do?” and “What are the best exercises for weight loss?”
