Google apps getting the wave treatment

Earlier this week, Engadget received a set of images from an anonymous insider at Google showing a quick insight into the potential future of Google's web applications - with a hint of wave. It looks very much like a work in progress, but a change such as this is needed.

The pictures show a unified UI across all Google applications - including Google search, GMail and Google Contacts - which is a very similar UI to Google Wave - which is more than welcome. Engadget was told that "the goal is to provide a consistent experience throughout all Google Apps and blur the line between the browser and the website (e.g. drag and drop, right-click, etc.)."

Engadget also reported that they could not confirm the images authenticity, but the tipster did show real insider knowledge of Google, so these images should be the real deal. If so, it looks like the Google interface will finally be bought up to date, as it hasn't really been updated since it's launch on April 1, 2004.
