Amazon is offering a ton of deals today with its Prime Day promotion, and Microsoft has got in on the action too - but they're not the only ones to be offering big savings today.
The UK's largest independent handset retailer, Carphone Warehouse, has a remarkable deal available today on Google's Nexus 5X.
The 16GB model is available there for just £169 SIM-free, including the Ice Blue option, which is exclusive to the retailer. The 32GB model is also available with huge savings, priced at £229 for today only.
Curiously, Carphone Warehouse appears to have got its sums wrong on its site, claiming that the £169 price for the 16GB model represents savings of £180, which would put its regular price at £349. That clearly makes no sense, given that the same page also makes it clear that the 32GB model currently has £100 off its £329 price, which would put make the normal price of the 16GB model £20 more expensive.
In fact, Carphone Warehouse usually sells the 16GB model for £299 (the same price as the Google Store), not £349, so today's deal provides only £130 off its usual SIM-free price, rather than £180. Even so, that's still a huge discount, and given that the Nexus 5X is such a capable handset, it will no doubt prove difficult to resist for some buyers.
