Halo 3 PC Insider test extended by a week, 50,000 more invites sent out

A new wave of invites has been sent out to Microsoft Store and Steam users who've opted in to the Halo Insider program, granting access to the ongoing Halo 3 flight from last week.

Last week, 343 Industries began conducting an Insider test on the upcoming PC version of Halo 3 for the Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and right before it comes to a close, the studio has now elected to extend the flight duration.

As 343 Industries' Tyler "Postums" Davis detailed, the new plan is to continue the current testing session until June 26, with a new update being prepared for Insiders carrying bug fixes, which should land by the end of this week.

Around 50,000 more Spartans should now have an invite waiting for them in their inbox as well, arriving as a part of the next wave of Steam and Microsoft Store codes being sent out. Apparently, this should cover everyone who has opted into being a Halo Insider on PC, so anyone who didn't get in should probably double-check their information on the testing portal at HaloWaypoint.

The current flight is testing essentially every component of the upcoming Halo 3 PC port, including the campaign, multiplayer, Forge, Theater, as well as an updated armor customization system, among other features. A full release date isn't attached to the game yet, but it should land soon after Insider sessions conclude.
