Codemasters on Thursday announced IGI 2: Covert Strike - its stealth-based first-person shooter coming this fall - will contain over 30 authentic firearms featuring realistic gun ballistics. The ballistics system will use special physics to simulate a range of weapon effects including:
- Realistic material penetration
- Realistic fire rates
- Realistic hit damage
- Inventory system affecting player movement
- Accurate reload times and range
- Accurate weight and clip capacity
- Reactive targeting system
- Realistic special effects such as muzzle flashes and gun smoke
