The Epic Games Store is currently on its sixth mystery giveaway, and today, it unveiled Paradise Killer as the latest offer. This continues the store's streak of offering well-received, indie experiences. PC gamers can grab the latest drop and keep it forever if they claim it before the next freebie appears tomorrow, December 23.
Developed by Kaizen Game Works and first released in 2020, Paradise Killer offers an open-world adventure that has you investigating a murder. Set on a bizarre, futuristic island where a civilization is attempting to resurrect alien gods, the protagonist, Lady Love Dies, is summoned to uncover the culprit behind the murder of the group's entire council.
You get to explore the whole island, talk to witnesses, gather evidence, build a case, and hopefully catch the right culprit at the end.
"You choose who to accuse, and build a case to support conviction," adds the developer. "Everyone on Paradise has a secret to hide and something to gain. Old friends become new suspects, forcing you to choose between the evidence, the greater good and your own beliefs. There are many possible murderers, but who you pick will define your own personal truth."
This version of the game is also the updated version that delivered enhancements like new music and characters, extra quests, skins, and more. DirectX 12 support featuring ray tracing and upscaling tech from Nvidia and AMD is available too.
Paradise Killer is free to claim on the Epic Games Store for the next 24 hours. Like always, nobody outside of Epic Games knows yet what will be available next time. The upcoming mystery freebie will reveal itself and unlock for all PC gamers at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET, December 23.
So far, the store's offer has given away Hogwarts Legacy, Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel, Eternights, Blood West, and Sorry We're Closed to keep for PC gamers. The promotion is set to run until December 31 with a fresh giveaway every day.
