Layers of Fear and Q.U.B.E. 2 are free to claim on the Epic Games Store

Epic Games Store has replaced >observer_ and Alan Wake: American Nightmare to put on offer Q.U.B.E. 2 and Layers of Fear this week, giving them away to claim for free.

If last week’s giveaway of Observer was to your liking, Layers of Fear should pique your interest, as it is developed by Bloober Team as well. A psychological horror title, the game is set in the 1920s and takes players on an eerie journey that lead towards three different endings, depending on decisions that the player makes. This giveaway also includes the game's Inheritance DLC. Here’s how the Epic Games Store describes the title:

Layers of Fear is a first-person psychedelic horror game with a heavy focus on story and exploration. Delve deep into the mind of an insane painter and discover the secret of his madness.

Layers of Fear: Inheritance expands the plot from Layers of Fear and tells the story of the painter’s daughter, who comes back to her childhood home to face her past. Relive her experiences and witness the full scope of the tragedy that has swallowed up the family.

Q.U.B.E. 2 is a physics-based first-person puzzle game that gives players the task of dealing with blocks as they navigate their way through a series of levels towards an exit. There are over 80 puzzles to go through in a variety of environments with a story that shows just a tinge of horror. Here’s how the Epic Games Store describes the title:

You are Amelia Cross, a stranded archaeologist who has mysteriously awoken among the sand swept ruins of an ancient alien landscape. Together with the distant help of another survivor, you must solve the puzzles of this forgotten world to find a way back home.

Epic Games Store is offering Layers of Fear for Windows and macOS, and Q.U.B.E. 2 for Windows at no cost to players.
