Lenovo unveils $499 Phab2 Pro, a Project Tango phablet

Lenovo has finally unveiled its Project Tango handset that was first teased at CES 2016. The Phab2 Pro will be available in September globally and be priced at $499 USD.

Lenovo has been teasing its joint project with Google for quite some time. The Project Tango smartphone was officially unveiled today at Tech World 2016, being dubbed the Phab2 Pro.

The handset isn't a small device by any means, but it will offer flagship specifications and the added functionality of being a Project Tango device. The Phab2 Pro will come in two colors (champagne gold and gunmetal grey) and will be crafted in a metal unibody frame. The handset offers:

  • 6.4-inch QHD display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor
  • 4GB RAM
  • 16MP rear, 8MP front-facing, depth and motion tracking camera
  • Dolby Atmos and Dolby 5.1 audio capture
  • 4050mAh battery with fast charging capability
  • fingerprint reader

The handset will be available globally starting September and will cost $499 unlocked.
