Lenovo has announced the Smart Clock 2 with a built-in speaker. Much like its predecessor, the Smart Clock 2 has a fabric exterior. On the software side of things, the Chinese company has baked-in Google Assistant to enable users to check on the weather, traffic, and latest news with the convenience of voice commands.
The Smart Clock 2 has a 4-inch IPS touchscreen display that generally offers wide viewing angles. It is backed by MediaTek's MT8167S chipset. The clock packs in 1GB RAM and 8GB flash storage. The device features 1.5-inch 3W front-firing speakers. It also has an array of microphones to pick up voice commands. Lenovo says that the Smart Clock 2 has a mute button to safeguard your privacy.
The Smart Clock 2 works as a hub for your smart gadgets and appliances. For instance, it can be used for controlling smart lights, locks, and media players. It ships with a Dock accessory equipped with pogo-pins to charge your Smart Clock 2. The Dock also offers "wireless" (inductive) charging to juice up your smartphone. Apart from that, this accessory can double up as a night light.
The Lenovo Smart Clock 2 comes in Abyss Blue, Heather Grey, and Shadow Black. The smart clock along with its dock accessory is priced at $89.99 in the US and €89.99 in Europe. It is expected to hit store shelves in August 2021.
