Microsoft announces 3 new map packs arriving on Xbox 360

Microsoft have confirmed and announced the release dates of a number of new downloadable content packs for Halo 3, Gears of War 2 and Left 4 Dead today.

The first DLC to release will be the 'Snowblind' map pack for Gears of War 2, set for March 31. The map pack will cost gamers 800 points ($10 USD, £6.80 GBP) and includes 4 maps: Grindyard, Under Hill, Courtyard, and Fuel Depot. Fuel Depot is a remake of the same map released in the first Gears of War.

Gears of War 2 gamers will also receive a patch from Xbox Live this week to address the current ranking system with a new improved experience point system. The patch goes live tomorrow Tuesday March 24.

Halo 3's 'Mythic' map pack will release on April 9 as previously announced by Bungie, for the price of 800 points also. The map pack was only available to gamers who bought the Limited Edition of Halo Wars previously. The map pack includes 3 new maps: Orbital, Sandbox and Assembly.

Also announced was the long awaited 'Survival' pack for Left 4 Dead, set to release on April 21. The DLC still hasn't received an official date for PC gamers yet, but it is expected to arrive along with the 360's release sometime. Valve have gone on record to say they wish to see the DLC released simultaneously.

The pack, which will be free, includes a new game mode titled 'survival', which is a timed challenge mode where players try to last as long as they can against a never ending flood of zombies. Also included with the Survival pack is the addition of campaigns Death Toll and Dead Air now playable in versus mode.
