Microsoft details what's new to Microsoft 365 in January

Today, Microsoft published its usual roundup of new features that are availale in its Microsoft 365 subscription service. This month, the major focuses are Teams, Lists, and To Do, although there are some new Visio features as well.

For Teams, there are tasks publishing for firstline workers, breakout rooms, approvals, and more. We could go into more detail here, but there was a whole roundup specfic to Teams this morning, and there's a lot.

Next up is Microsoft Lists. Earlier this month, the team published the Microsoft Lists iOS app, promising that an Android app is coming at some point down the line. If you're unfamiliar with Lists, it's something of a Trello competitor.

For Microsoft To Do, the firm is promising to use AI to suggest tasks that are based on keywords and deadlines. This was announced about a week ago. There's a small new feature in Excel too, which is a LAMBDA function that lets you turn your formulas into reusable functions.

Finally, as mentioned above, there are some new Visio features. You can now insert icons into Visio files, and you can rotate, recolor, and resize content without and loss to the quality of the image. Also, you can use the 'latest shapes' to represent an Azure architectural diagram.

All of the features should have rolled out this month, and if it's only for Insiders, non-Insiders should get it soon.
