Microsoft is giving away four months of free service to new Groove Music Pass subscribers

In June, Microsoft launched a promotional deal, offering three free months of service to those who signed up for a month of its Groove Music Pass subscription. Now, it's offering a similar deal - but this time around, it's slightly better.

Previously, Microsoft required that you purchase a one-month subscription, priced at $9.99, to qualify for the freebie. This time, Microsoft is offering a free 30-day trial, after which it will send a promo code entitling you to a further three-month subscription free of charge.

You'll still have to sign up with a valid credit card, but you can cancel your subscription before it gets charged, unless you want to continue subscribing to Groove Music Pass at the standard rates once the promotional period ends.

The offer will remain available until December 31, but Microsoft points out that "previous Zune, Xbox or Groove Music Pass trial customers are not eligible for this offer".

Microsoft's music subscription service allows users to download songs to up to four devices, as well as streaming to one device at a time. In addition to Windows 10 devices and the web, Groove is also supported on Xbox, Android and iOS devices.
