After opening over 30 temporary holiday stores in the US and Canada last week for the launch of Windows 8, Microsoft continues to open up new permanent retail locations. Today, Microsoft opened up its newest store in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The ribbon cutting ceremony for the store, located at the Plaza Las Américas shopping center, was posted on the official Microsoft Store Facebook page. Not counting the holiday stores, this is the first Microsoft Store location that has opened outside the continental United States. Well known pop artist Enrique Iglesias will be performing a free concert for some of the store's first patrons today.
Microsoft will be opening up yet another new permanent retail store on Saturday, this time at Corte Madera, California, located just north of San Fransisco. One week from today on November 8th, Cincinnati, Ohio gets its first Microsoft Store. On November 17th, the first permanent Microsoft Store in another country will open in Toronto, Canada.
Microsoft has plans to open up even more locations in 2013, even after it shuts down its temporary holiday stores. There are already plans to launch a London store in the UK sometime in 2013.
