Minecraft: Dungeons announced, coming to PC in 2019

MineCon, an event that celebrates all things Minecraft, is now underway for 2018. The event revealed a new game coming in 2019, a dungeon crawler in the Minecraft style, titled Minecraft: Dungeons.

Today, during MineCon 2018, the team behind Minecraft announced a new project, Minecraft: Dungeons. Although details about the game weren't announced, it is slated to arrive sometime in 2019.

The official description from the announcement trailer does shed some light on what kind of game it will be. According to the description, it will be an action-adventure game, modeled after classic dungeon crawlers. It is easy to see the inspiration by watching the trailer. You will be able to play the game by yourself or with a group of up to four friends.

Much like any dungeon crawler, you will be tasked with vanquishing evil and battling bosses. During the questing process, you will be able to pick up new weapons and items, that will help you on your way. This could be a very interesting and entertaining title. As stated before, there is no concrete date when this game will arrive but it will be available for PC in 2019. It has not yet been made clear if the title is slate for a release on consoles as well, but we'll likely learn more soon.
