NES Games Cubed

Hudson will be remaking several old NES games to celebrate the Famicom's (the name of the NES in Japan) 20th anniversary. There will be a series of games called Famicom Collection which Konami will will publish. The games will go on sale in Japan for 3200 Yen (roughly £17/€23).

The first game in the series will be called Famicom Collection Volume 1: Cubic Lode Runner and will feature a remake of the arcade game Lone Runner with both 2D and 3D game play. It will also feature over 50 stages, a map editor and remixed background music.

The second game in the series will be called Famicom Collection 2: Star Soldier and will see the game Star Soldier get the same treatment as Lone Runner as well as a variety of play modes.

Both are due to launch in Japan on July 10th and it is rumoured that there will be six titles in total, but they have yet to be confirmed. There is currently no details if the game will be launched in Western territories.
