Microsoft and Nokia have just sent out press invites for an event of September 5th. The invitation, which you can see above, is clearly in the style of Windows Phone, to no surprise, and if we were hedging our bets, it's going to be Windows Phone 8 related.

Going off of our own speculation, Nokia will likely announce its next generation of products that will run Windows Phone 8 and we can only hope that they will ship shortly after the announcement. When we interviewed Richard Kerris back in July, he was optimistic about Windows Phone 8 and Nokia's upcoming products and we hope they bring to the table a serious, tier 1 competitor, to the marketplace.

Whatever Nokia has up its sleeve for the event will surely be watched closely as the company works to turn the ship back towards profitability.
