Nokia Windows Phone 8 event on September 5 is open to the public

Nokia and Microsoft recently announced a joint event to be held in New York City for the launch of Windows Phone 8 (and perhaps some Windows 8 devices too), and now it looks like the company has opened an event in the evening up to the public.

This page was found, which allows registration for an evening event on September 5, and shows it will be held at Center548 in Chelsea, New York. It also asks whether or not the attendee "owns a Windows Phone" yet. If you're a fan of what's happening with Windows Phone, this could be your opportunity to experience a party unlike any other (you need to be over 18, by the way).

The event is not the same as the private press event in the morning, but likely a sort of "after-party" for a public announcement.

Nokia is widely believed to be unveiling two additional Lumia devices that will be the first to feature Windows Phone 8, which is a rebuild of Windows Phone from the ground up on the Windows 8 code base.

Space is limited for the event, so register now to ensure you don't miss out.
