nubia Watch featuring flexible display unveiled in China

Today nubia launched a new smartphone with massive RAM options under its Red Magic branding called the Red Magic 5S. Apart from the gaming device, the Chinese electronics maker also unveiled a smartwatch in China. It is called the nubia Watch and it bears many similarities to the nubia Alpha, such as a flexible display and form factor.

Speaking of the specifications, the nubia Watch features a 4.01-inch bendable AMOLED display with much thinner bezels as compared to the Alpha. The smartwatch's dial is made of high-grade aluminum. It is powered by the Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset and has 1GB of RAM coupled with 8GB of internal storage. It has a 420mAh battery and weighs 98g. Other basic features include a mic, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and eSIM support.

As for the nubia Watch's dimensions, it measures 125mm long and 41.5mm wide. The smartwatch is available in three color options: black, green and red. The surprising factor is the price - the nubia Watch will set customers back ¥1799 (~$256). Compared to the launch price of the nubia Alpha, which was ¥3499 (~$520), the newest device featuring a wrap-around display from nubia is a whole lot cheaper.

Sales for the nubia Watch are scheduled to go live on August 5, 2020, at 10:00 AM local time. Meanwhile, pre-orders for the wearable device are open in China. Customers can either purchase the smartwatch from nubia's official online store or through any other retailers.

As of right now, it is unclear whether the nubia Watch will be hitting international markets or not. We can only assume that this is a possibility in the future, considering the fact that the Alpha was sold globally and it is a very similar product. At the end of the day, time will be the best judge of the matter.
