Nvidia launches all out attack on Via

Nforce 2 versus VT600A contrasted. Let's hope they're not squabbling over TMTA

GRAPHICS CHIP and chipset company Nzilla is distributing a document dissing Via's VT600A chipset.

Headed "How Via claims the Performance Crown", the five page document seen by the INQUIRER earlier this week, says the Taiwanese firm has "cherry picked" three benchmarks, configurations and resolutions and said its [Via's] figures aren't comparing what it describes as the real world. The real world, says Nzilla, is games.

It claims its own Nforce 2 chipset in boards from Asus and Gigabyte beats Via's on a number of benchmarks including Serious Sam Valley of the Jaguar, the Anand Antalus- Botmatch, Jedi Knight, the Comanche 4 Demo and Q3 Arena 1.17.

It produces a graph claiming that the list of benchmarks Nvidia's Nforce 2 wins at amounts to 56, using all resolutions.

And it ends by quoting a review from Sharky Extreme which describes the Nforce 2 SPP (Ultra 400) as the "most popular option for high end AMD gaming systems".
