OnePlus may be jumping on the smart tag bandwagon with the "OnePlusTag"

There are rumors going around that OnePlus is following in the footsteps of other companies when it comes to smart tags, and is looking to launch its own take on the product. Its smart tag device could allow OnePlus users to track down their stolen or lost items, similar to the capabilities offered by existing competitors on the market.

The parent company of OnePlus, Beijing Intangible Technology Co., Ltd., filed a trademark for the "OnePlusTag" moniker on the 18th of May, 2021, as can be seen in the screenshot below:

The registration number is logged as 56159145. Although there is no description to accompany it, the trademark name suggests that the accessory is a smart tag solution.

While the launch date for such a device hasn't been announced yet and virtually nothing is known about it right now, it is possible that the OnePlusTag - or whatever it may end up being called - will launch alongside the OnePlus 9T later this year. We'll likely learn more about this purported solution then, including its price tag.
