Open-world adventure game RiME finally gets a Nintendo Switch release date

RiME, an open-world adventure-puzzle video game, was initially going to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive, but after Tequila Works, the game’s developer, re-acquired the rights to the intellectual property, it was eventually released in May for Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a port for the Nintendo Switch planned for a later date. An enhanced version of the game that will take advantage of the Xbox One X's capabilities will also be released when Microsoft launches its latest console on November 7.

Tequila Works, along with the game’s two publishers, Grey Box and Six Foot, have finally announced the release date on which owners of Nintendo’s latest console will be able to get their hands on the game. RiME will be available for US customers to buy on November 14 while Europe will receive the game a few days later on the 17th.

Raúl Rubio Munárriz, CEO and creative director of Tequila Works, said in the press release:

“Hi everyone, we know a lot of people have been asking about the Switch release date, so we're pleased to finally confirm that RiME will be releasing on the Nintendo Switch on November 14th in North America, and November 17th in Europe. We'll be releasing a producer's letter from our Lead Producer, Cody Bradley, next week to give a bit more insight on the process of developing for the Switch. As big fans of Nintendo, we truly appreciate our fans’ patience as Tantalus and Tequila Works continue working on RiME on Nintendo Switch; we are all committed to making sure all players get the high-quality experience they deserve.”

In addition, the announcement revealed that there will be two editions of the game, a standard digital edition that will be available on the Nintendo eShop for $29.99 and a physical edition that will retail for $39.99 and include a code to download the game’s soundtrack.
