Power BI Premium gets full report attachments for report subscriptions

Last week, Microsoft added an automated template app installation capability to Power BI. The Redmond firm also recently introduced new Power Automate templates.

Today, Microsoft has announced that the full report attachment capability for report subscriptions for Power BI Premium is now available. Moreover, the public preview of the Premium per user offering unveiled at this year's Ignite has now been rolled out to all public tenants as well.

With the addition of the new feature, full reports in premium workspaces that are subscribed to can be included as PowerPoint or PDF attachments. The size of the attachment must be less than 20 pages, and must not exceed 25MB - regardless of the amount of pages. To utilize report attachments, either new subscriptions be created for the report, or existing ones can be updated. The ability to add a report as an attachment will be disabled for new subscriptions by default. The inclusion of a preview image will also be left upon the user through a toggle.

To enable the "Full report attachment as" box, upgraded workspaces or apps that fall under Premium will need to be in use. Notably, users will need to have a Premium per user license to view the attached reports in the Power BI service. The capability is currently being rolled out to all regions, and this process should be completed by December 12.
