New iPads are expected to ship later this year

New information from a report by Bloomberg suggests that new iPads are going to be unveiled later this year. Sources claim that the potential follow-up to the iPad Air will include an AR coating.

There have been quite a few rumors regarding Apple products, such as reports of a new iPad Air, as well as claims saying that the iPhone 6 will have features similar to the first generation iPhone. Of course, the Apple rumor mill is at it again, with another report that suggests a brand new 9.7-inch iPad and 7.9-inch iPad Mini will be coming out later this year.

Bloomberg claims that new iPads are currently being manufactured, according to two unnamed sources that are familiar with Apple's supply chain. A new 9.7-inch iPad, which is thought to be a follow-up to the iPad Air, is expected to be released later this quarter, or early on in the fourth quarter of this fiscal year. However, the initial stock could be constrained due to manufacturer issues regarding the application of an anti-reflective coating for the device's display. The tablets have only had finger-print resistant (oleophobic) coating, making this a first for the iPad product line.

Information regarding the new 7.9-inch iPad Mini is scarce; their sources only mentions that the device has entered the early stages of the manufacturing process, with an expected arrival date at the end of this year. Despite the small amount of information, it will be interesting to see the new iPads, which are rumored to have TouchID sensors, once they're finally released or if Apple will push this feature back for a later release.
