Respawn Entertainment won't reveal game at E3 2012

Respawn Entertainment is going to be taking its time in revealing the first details about its debut game. The developer was formed in 2010 by Infinity Ward co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella just a few weeks after being fired from their positions by Activision. The duo will soon face off against their former employers in court.

The company quickly secured a publishing deal with Electronic Arts for their first title. Many other Infinity Ward team members have also joined Respawn. But aside from a very blurry screenshot, shown above, that was posted in July 2011, the company has been silent about what their first game will be like.

If you were hoping that Respawn would use E3 2012 to finally take the curtains off their debut game, prepare for disappointment. Joystiq reports that according to a Respawn representative, "Some of us will be present at E3, but we won't be showing anything or doing any press related to the game,"

That's not the only EA game that's been in a state of information limbo. At E3 2011, the company announced that it would publish Overstrike, a console action game from Resistance developer Insomniac Games. However, aside from a non-gameplay trailer, neither EA nor Insomniac have given out any more information about the status of Overstrike since the E3 2011 announcement.
