Samsung announces Pay Card, its new digital payment service

Samsung announced today that it has teamed up with Curve, a European digital banking firm, and Mastercard to develop a new digital payment service. The Samsung Pay Card is designed to let you manage and monitor your finances.

The new system provides a single place where you can view your spending through a mobile device. Powered by Curve, it syncs your loyalty and bank cards. Additionally, the service processes your payments in a secure environment.

Conor Pierce, Corporate Vice-President of Samsung UK & Ireland, said:

“At Samsung, our customers are at the heart of everything we do, which is why we strive to create the best technology, services and solutions. The Samsung Pay Card powered by Curve will allow us to expand our Samsung Pay offering, giving our loyal customers even greater benefits and rewards than ever before.”

Samsung noted that the partnership is the first of its kind in Europe for Samsung Pay. The service is set for launch in the UK later this year. It also expands Samsung's digital payment efforts following a previous partnership with SoFi to roll out a debit card and a cash management account.
