Samsung shows Windows 8 dual screen laptop prototype

Samsung has been showing off some interesting new laptop designs for Windows 8-based PCs this week as part of the IFA trade show in Berlin. One of them was a Series 9 laptop with a screen that supported a resolution of 2560x1440.

That's not all Samsung had to show IFA attendees this week. Engadget reports that the company had another laptop concept that had two screens. The article notes that the laptop was heavier than a normal notebook of its size, which indicates that the second screen adds quite a bit of weight to the product.

Samsung also showed off a number of other laptop concept designs at the show, including some variations of a notebook that has a sliding keyboard. However, it looks like the dual screen notebook is the one that is the furthest along in development.

Having said that, it may be a while before any of these designs show up in stores or in your home or office. A Samsung rep at IFA there is no word on when, or even if, they will be released or how much they will cost. However, we would bet that there will be a dual screen laptop in some form released by Samsung.
