Samsung unveils details of Galaxy S8 'Unpacked' event

After months of rumors and leaks, Samsung has finally announced details about its upcoming 'Unpacked' event that will see the release of the Galaxy S8. The event will be held on March 29.

After announcing the Galaxy Tab S3, Gear VR with controller, and the Galaxy Book at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Samsung has announced plans for its next event that will take place at the end of March.

The firm is expected to announce the long-awaited Galaxy S8 at its 'Unpacked' event. Although it has been leaked many times over the past couple months, this will be the first official unveiling of the handset. In the newly released video above, Samsung offers images of smartphones with the phrase "this is a phone" and concludes by eliminating the borders of the smartphone in exchange for the bezel-less silhouette of the S8 with the words "unbox your phone".

The 'Unpacked' event will be held on March 29 with a livestream made available for those that are not present. There are high expectations for the S8, as rivals like LG and Huawei have announced their handsets earlier today at MWC.
