Shadow of the Tomb Raider's new E3 trailer shows off gameplay

Shadow of the Tomb Raider's first gameplay trailer dropped at Microsoft's E3 conference today, showing off Lara newest adventure as she fights to stop the Mayan apocalypse and the returning Trinity.

Square Enix announced the third entry in the Tomb Raider reboot back in April, this time with Lara Croft going against the clock to save the world from the Mayan apocalypse. Today during Microsoft's E3 presentation, we got the first look at Shadow of the Tomb Raider's gameplay, seen above in the new trailer.

Fans of the series should see some familiar gameplay elements returning, from the treacherous climbs to the ancient puzzles equipped with deadly traps, and there's plenty of sneaky and explosive combat involved too. Moreover, the trailer confirms that the Order of the Trinity is returning as a major threat to Lara, as well as familiar faces from previous entries.

We should see even more footage and get more information on the game on Square Enix's own E3 presentation.

Although Microsoft managed to nab the first gameplay reveal on its conference, the game does not have a timed exclusive release on any platform. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is launching on September 14 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, while those who pre-order the game's special editions receive access to the game 48 hours earlier.
